Do bad things really happen in threes?
This is a quick post to let you know I am still blogging.
Had a few learning, stretching, mommy moments the past month and got off track.
My eleven year old son had a two month long medical problem we ended up getting a scope of his esophagus and stomach in the end; thirteen year old daughter decided she wanted to home school; father in law fell and broke his hip, a day later I almost burned the house down as I forgot a pot of boiling chicken was on the stove and went to three hours of church....which resulted in a week in a hotel; and the day after that my seventeen year old made the call I dreaded daily...she had gotten in an accident. Fortunately (for us anyway), the accident was not my daughter's fault.
So, here I am.
With mud in the lower elevations and snow still in the mountains, early spring is a toughie for hiking with kids, but a no brainer for getting outside.
We took the kids walking on the Provo River Trail and saw 30 species of birds. The leaves were not on the trees yet, but visibility was great! We started at the trail head across the way from Utah Lake State Park at the end of Center Street in Provo, Utah. We used my "map my run" app to calculate our mileage and we walked three miles.
I am at a loss right now, due to either my distracted state as I put the forty boxes of freshly cleaned linens, clothing and other textiles in their places; or because there really isn't much trail hiking one can do in spring in Utah County; so, I am putting out the challenge for you readers to comment and add any trails or other outdoor activities in Utah County, Utah anywhere, or anywhere.
My ideas:
Lower Provo River Trail
Bonneville Shoreline Trail
Spanish Fork River Trail and Parks
That's it for tonight.
Please add your ideas and questions.
Crazy times! That sounds like a nice stroll. Nothing like mother nature to help relieve stress.
